Both the Houses of Parliament were adjourned for the day. The Lok Sabha was rocked for a third consecutive day today by the opposition over their demands while the Rajya Sabha was adjourned by the Chairman after laying of the papers.

When the Lok Sabha re-assembled at 2 pm after the first adjournment members of opposition again trooped in the Well of the House over the issue of Lakhimpur Kheri incident and demand of dismissal of Minister of State of Home Ajay Kumar Mishra from the Council of Ministers.

The Presiding Officer appealed to agitating members to let the House function but in vain. As the protest and sloganeering continued, the Chair adjourned the House for the day.

Amid the commotion, The National Anti-Doping Bill 2021, The Wild Life (Protection) Amendment Bill 2021 and The Appropriation (Number 05) Bill 2021 were introduced in the Lower House. The House also approved the amendments in the Surrogacy (Regulation) Bill 2019 suggested by the Rajya Sabha.

Earlier, as soon as the Lok Sabha met for the day, Congress, TMC, and DMK members trooped into the well of the House demanding removal of Ajay Kumar Mishra.

The Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla tried to run the Question Hour amid constant sloganeering by the opposition members in the well. The Speaker appealed to the agitating members to let the House run. Amid din, the Speaker tried to run the Question Hour but in vain.

He also warned the agitating members that they will be responsible for any damage to property of the House. Amid the chaotic scene, the Speaker adjourned the House till 2 pm.

In the Rajya Sabha, after laying of the papers, Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu requested all members to arrive at a consensus after having a meeting with the leader of the House and other senior members of the opposition.

After the statement, the Chairman adjourned the House for the Day.
