Information and Broadcasting Minister and senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu has said, the BJP will fight assembly election in Uttar Pradesh on developmental agenda and not on issues like Ram Temple.
Talking to a news agency today, Mr Naidu said, the real alignment is in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and described him as the mascot of development. He said, the anti-black money campaign has attracted people, specially from the lower sections of the society, towards BJP.
The minister said, the campaign will further get momentum with the fruits of the demonetisation getting visible. He alleged that the fruits of development are not reaching the people of UP because of the delivery system of the state is totally corrupt or incapable of delivery. To a query on the party’s Chief Ministerial face in Uttar Pradesh, Mr Naidu said, it has been found that people are willing to vote for development and vote for party. He said, the strategy differs from state to state and in UP, the party has decided not to project anybody as CM candidate.
