BJP Tuesday said that the 2019 General Election will be fought under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking to media after the meeting of Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of BJP and NDA rules states, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh said, there were detailed discussions in the meetings on the upcoming assembly elections in the states and Lok Sabha elections.
He informed that implementation of various Central Schemes was reviewed. He said various development works of the Central and the States were discussed in the Chief Minister’s Council. Mr Singh said, the welfare of the poor is the focus of the Centre, as well as the State Governments and the schemes brought by the government, has impacted people.
He said, the decision taken by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government in enhancing the MSP of Rabi and Kharif crops has impacted positively the life of farmers. Mr Singh said, besides, giving Constitutional Status to NCBC and Prevention of Scheduled castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act have impacted the people.
During the meeting, the progress made by the State governments in schemes like Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala Yojana, Swachh Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Saubhagya Yojana were reviewed. He said, during his address, the Prime Minister took stock of the progress made by the State governments in various schemes. BJP Chief Amit Shah in his address thanked the people of the country for their tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Replying to a query on the NRC in Assam, Mr Singh said, the party’s stand is clear on the issue and illegal infiltration will not be tolerated.
In a day-long meeting of the BJP Chief Ministers’ Council here at the party headquarters, chaired by President Amit Shah, the Chief Ministers said the party will face the people in the next Lok Sabha polls on the issues of the implementation of the development programmes it has initiated and also on the promises it made in the 2014 election manifesto.
Union Ministers including Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley and Nitin Gadkari also attended the meeting.
