BJP on Wednesday attacked Rahul Gandhi for using an ex-serviceman’s photograph to criticize the demonetization saying the retired solider whose photograph Congress Vice President tweeted has publicly supported the note ban.
Terming demonetization a tragedy, Mr. Gandhi has tweeted a last year’s photograph of Nand Lal in which the former soldier appeared anguished as he stood in a queue to withdraw currency after the note ban. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told media in New Delhi that it is unfair on Mr. Gandhi’s part to use the photo of a former soldier for his nefarious designs.
Citing Nand Lal’s remarks, Mr. Prasad said, he has been a distinguished retired soldier of the Army and has publicly supported the demonetisation.
