Attacking the BJP over the demonetization, Bahujan Samaj Party Chief Mayawati today said that BJP should be ready to face the consequences of its decision in Uttar Pradesh polls. Mayawati said, the BJP had made several promises during 2014 Lok Sabha election but after coming to power the party has not fulfilled any promise it made.

Addressing a press conference in Lucknow on the occasion of her 61st birthday today, she also said that Samajwadi Party, government is being run by anti social elements. She said, Congress ruled in UP for about 34 years but failed to fulfill its promises.

 “SP is a divided house now with a prominent caste vote will get split and thus voting for the SP-Congress- RLD alliance would only benefit the BJP. BSP’s Dalit vote is intact hence the party is in a position to counter the BJP at any cost,” she claimed.

She announced that her party will go it alone in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly election.

Mayawati rolled out several sops for the people of Uttar Pradesh if her party is voted to power and even announced that she will give cash instead of mobile phones and laptops. “BSP Government if comes to power in UP would prefer to give cash instead of mobile phones and laptops.

Besides, employment will be given instead of employment allowances to the youths and probe will be done in all the Government jobs given during the present Samajwadi Party regime,” she said.

Ms Mayawati announced that she would not go for memorials or parks in the next regime as target has been completed to construction these besides law and order would be in her priority.

“Focus on the development of Poorvanchal and rechristening the names of the schemes changed by the SP Government would also be her priority,’ she said. Dressed in a pink suit and a overcoat, Ms Mayawati addressed for 64 minutes with just one interruption asking the media to bear with her in her birthday.

“It would be a birthday gift for me if people of three states — UP, Uttarakhand and Punjab supports BSP, where it is contesting the elections along,” she said. She also released the 12th edition of the party’s ‘blue book’ My Struggle Ridden Life and BSP Movement both in Hindi and English. However, the main attack of the BSP supremo today was on BJP and tried to convince the people that only her party could prevent BJP in coming to power in UP in 2017 and later BSP would put the spanner in the way of Narendra Modi in 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

Meanwhile, the BJP has accused the BSP of making baseless allegations as it is not able do digest the work done by the NDA government for the development of dalits and poor of the country.
