The ruling BJP and Shiv Sena have once again decided to form an alliance for the upcoming 212 local body polls in Maharashtra. Addressing a joined press conference with Maharashtra BJP President Raosaheb Danve in Mumbai, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut announced that Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena president Udhdhav Thackeray discussed the matter and confirmed the alliance.
Mr Raut said both Mr Fadnavis and Mr Thackeray are of the view that the 100 percent alliance in all 212 local body polls will ensure the victory and enable both the parties to continue to maintain good governance at all levels that is right from the grass roots to the state secretariat in Maharashtra. He said that the 100 percent alliance will also uplift the morale of both party workers. Mr Raut added that any remaining issue between both the parties will be resolved mutually.
Elections will be held for 212 local bodies, including 192 municipal councils and 20 nagar panchayats, on November 27, December 14, December 18 in 2016 and on January 8, 2017, barring two districts of Mumbai and Thane.
