Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday accused the BJP and RSS of not having any faith in Lord Ram and said that both want the temple row to keep burning for the sake of political gains. His comment came a day after Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat hoped that the construction of Ram temple might be completed in his lifetime. Nitish Kumar said that raking up the ‘mandir’ issue is just a ploy of Bharatiya Janata Party and the RSS to make political gains.
Talking to media persons the CM said, ”both the BJP and RSS only believe in the slogan ‘Ram lala hum layenge, mandir wahin banayenge,” adding that both the groups would never announce the date for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
“By giving political colour to the Ram temple issue, sentiments have been inflamed till date,” the Bihar CM asserted.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Digvijay Singh also accused the BJP and RSS of raking the Ram Mandir issue for political gains.
Nitish’s comments came a day after Bhagwat said, “The grand goal may be realised in our own time. May be we can see it with our own eyes. None can say when and how the temple will be constructed, but we need to be prepared and ready.”
