BJP president Amit Shah arriving in Odisha capital Bhubaneswar today. Mr. Shah, who will be on a three-day visit to the state, will spend a day each in Jajpur, Ganjam and Khurda districts to bolster the party’s grass roots presence as part of its ‘Mo Booth, Sabuthu Majbooth’ (my booth, the strongest) initiative.
On the last day of his tour, Mr Shah will go to Basantpur village, near Dhauli in Khurdha district, where he will meet with zilla parishad members, block presidents and vice-presidents on strategies to be adopted to further widen its base in Odisha, where assembly elections are due in 2019 together with the Lok Sabha polls.
Similarly, UPA led opposition parties presidential candidate Meira Kumar will be visiting the State today to garner support in her favour. The opposition has pitted her against NDA presidential candidate Ramnath Kovind. Notably, Biju Janata Dal (BJD), the ruling party in Odisha has already announced its support for NDA candidate Kovind.
