Amid continued logjam over government formation in Jammu and Kashmir, BJP today asserted that it will not accept any new demands of PDP to form a new government in the state. The party said it is ready to work with PDP on the same conditions which were agreed upon with Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Talking to media in New Delhi, BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav said there is no change in the situation following the death of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed except the change of guard which PDP has to decide.
On a query about yesterday’s meeting between PDP President Mehbooba Mufti and BJP Chief Amit Shah, Mr. Madhav said it has been conveyed that the government should be formed and the additional demands can be made thereafter.
He said there is still stalemate and no forward movement. J&K is currently under the Governor’s rule after the death of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as Mehbooba remains undecided to take over the top post.
