BJP has hit out at Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi for blaming the party and RSS for shoe throwing incident during his roadshow in UP and termed the allegation as baseless. The party said it does not believe in such a low level of politics and does politics on the basis of principles.
Talking to reporters in New Delhi, BJP Secretary Shrikant Sharma, however, condemned the incident saying such a way of protest is not right in a democracy. He said Mr. Gandhi is making allegation against BJP and RSS out of frustration as his Khat Sabhas with farmers have flopped.
Earlier in the day, during a roadshow in Sitapur, a shoe was hurled at Rahul Gandhi. The shoe missed him narrowly, but the attacker was arrested. Later, he blamed the BJP and the RSS for the incident.
