Congress Vice President Mr. Rahul Gandhi today alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Government at the Centre and that in various state were neglecting important issues being faced by the distressed farmers and labourers.
He said that the Government was bothered only about a select group of capitalists and it is not for the poor and under-privileged members of the society. He was speaking to reporters at Tonglabad today after conclusion of his 15-kilometre day-long Samvad Padyatra in Amravati Division of Vidarbha region in Maharashtra with a view to highlight the farmers’ woes. State Unit Chief Mr. Ashok Chavan and Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly Mr. Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil along with other prominent leaders were also present on this occasion.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Cheif Minister Devendra Fadnavis reminded Congress Vice President that it was his party that ruled the state till recently and everybody knew what was the condition of farmers during the 15 years Congress-NCP alliance.
