Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that BJP governments have taken Gujarat to new heights of progress with the mantra of Unity, Peace and Good Faith. Addressing a rally in Kalol, he recalled that state Congress leaders mocked him when he stated his intent to ensure electrification of villages in Gujarat.
He said he has proved all his naysayers wrong. Mr Modi declared that BJP is fighting these elections on the issue of development but Congress is back to their old tricks. He accused Congress of relying on its divide and rule policy.
He also addressed public meetings in Palanpur, Sanand and Vadodara.
BJP President Amit Shah, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Smriti Irani also campaigned for the party today.
NCP leader Praful Patel held public meetings in Modasa, Kathlal, Nadiad and Gandhinagar to canvass for votes.
Campaigning for second phase of elections in Gujarat has gained momentum. Star campaigners of all political parties held a series of rallies to urge people to vote in their favour.
