police UPBJP has demanded a CBI inquiry into the Bulandshahar gangrape case. The party today came down heavily on Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan for his comments on Bulandshahar gangrape case and asked him not to politicise the incident.

Briefing media in New Delhi today, party spokesperson Shrikant Sharma accused Mr Khan of trying to gain political mileage out of the incident. He said it is shameful that Azam Khan suggested that the gang rape could be a conspiracy by the Opposition.

The spokesperson said, law and order situation in the state is in shambles and nearly 6,000 cases of loot and dacoity have been reported in Samajwadi Party regime.

Azam Khan said in Rampur on Monday night that investigative agencies should explore the truth behind the gang rape event.

Later, Khan attempted to clarify his position saying he didn’t mean to term it as an opposition conspiracy.

Criticising Azam Khan for seeing political conspiracy in the Bulandshahr gangrape case, a close relative of the victim today asked whether Khan would have made said same statement if such brutality was meted out to any of his family member.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav said in a tweet message that IG Meeret Zone, Sujeet Pandey will conduct the Bulandshahar gangrape case.
