Bihar Government has taken U-turn on total ban on liquor in the state. State Government is mulling to start retail of Indian made foreign liquor on its own within all Municipal and Nagar Parishad limits through the Bihar State Beverage Corporation Limited. In this regard, advertisement has been published in local dailies.

It may be noticed that on November 26, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had announced that the state would go dry from April 1st next year. According to sources in the State Excise Department, the sale of country made liquor would be banned in the State.
