Elaborate security arrangements have been made for third phase of Bihar Assembly polls in to be held tomorrow. Fifty constituencies, spread over six districts, will go to polls in this phase. The districts are Patna, Saran, Vaishali, Nalanda, Bhojpur and Buxar. Over one lakh 10 thousand jawans of security forces have been deployed to ensure free and free fair polls.

Besides central para military forces (CPMF) at every booth, a three tier security arrangement has been put in place. There will also be patrolling by mounted police and 47 motorboats in the riverine areas. While five helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) will keep a vigil from sky during polling process, one air ambulance will be ready to meet any eventuality.

Polling time in 40 constituencies is 7 am to 5 pm while in remaining 10 naxal affected constituencies it will conclude at 4 pm . These are Taraiya, Amnaur, Vaishali, Raghopur, Patepur, Islampur, Masaurhi, Paliganj, Agiaon and Tarari. Over one crore 45 lakh electorates will decide the electoral fortune of 808 candidates including 71 female. 14 thousand 170 polling booths have been made for tomorrow polls.

Important candidate whose fate will be decided during this phase includes opposition leader Nand Kishore Yadav, Deputy assembly speaker Amarendra Pratap Singh, Ministers Shravan Kumar and Shyam Rajak and former Union Minister Akhilesh Prasad Singh. All eyes will be on RJD Chief Lalu Prasad’s son Tej Pratap and Tejaswi Prasad Yadav who are contesting elections from Mahua and Raghopur assembly constituency in Vaishali district.
