PATNA: The process for third phase of Assembly elections in Bihar has begun with the issuing of Notification on Monday. 48 constituencies spread across six districts of the state will go to the polls in this phase. Election for this phase would be held on October 28.  East Champaran, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan Saran and Vaishali would go to polls in the third phase.

The last day for filing of nominations for the third phase is October 11 and scrutiny would be done the next day and candidates can withdraw their nomination papers till  October 14.

211 candidates have so far filed their nomination papers for the first phase of assembly polls. Monday is the last day filing of nomination papers for the first phase of elections.

The Janta Dal ( United) has released the third list of 11 candidates on Monday . With this the party has so far cleared the names of 138 candidates. The JD (U) is to contesting 141 assembly seats following seat sharing agreement with the BJP.

The Bahujan Samaj Party ( BSP) which is contesting all 243 assembly seats has released its third list of 50 candidates, The CPM has also released a list of 26 candidates.
