PATNA: The Election Commission has asked the Bihar Government to transfer six IAS and five IPS officers. These officers include five District Magistrates, three SPs, one IG, one DIG and one Divisional Commissioner. Following the order the state government transferred these officers late last night.
Meanwhile, the Congress party has released the first list of 77candiadtes for the State assembly elections. 21 Muslims have got the place in the first list. The state congress president Mehboob Ali Kaiser has been fielded from Simri Bakhtiarpur and legislator Party leader Ashok Ram will be candidate from Kusheswar Asthan. Fourteen women candidates figure in the list. Women candidates include former MP Lovely Anand who will contest from Alamnagar. The party has already decided to go to it alone in the assembly elections and is fielding candidates in all the 243 constituencies. The RJD and Janata Dal(United) have not finalised the list of their candidates yet.
IT department sets up control room
Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Income Tax (Investigation) department has opened a control room in Patna to receive information and keep a close watch on poll expenditure by candidates during the Assembly polls in the state. The control room will keep a close watch on distribution of undisclosed cash and other articles and ostentatious election expenditure in the name of ceremonies and anniversaries.
