Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has announced that he would not be a CM candidate in 2025.

He said that the Bihar assembly elections will be fought under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav.

Nitish Kumar himself announced this in a meeting of MLAs of Mahagathbandhan,
the Grand Alliance.
Nitish said- 2025 assembly elections will be fought under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav.
"My aim is to defeat BJP in 2024 Lok Sabha. I do not want to become CM or PM candidate", he said. Earlier on Monday while addressing a meeting at Paithna-Bhagan Bigha village in Nalanda district, Nitish categorically said that he had done a lot of development work in Nalanda, his home district. “If there is anything left to do in the future, then Tejashwi will keep working and will get it all done,” Nitish told the people of Nalanda district. While turning towards the RJD leader, Nitish further said, “Tejashwi is here, I have done whatever I could to take him forward, I will take him even further ahead. You all can see and understand everything. All our officials are working well. Listen to what I am saying,” Nitish said on Monday. Nitish was addressing a meeting after inaugurating a new dental college and hospital at Paithna-Bhagan Bigha village under Rahui block of Nalanda district on Monday. Tejashwi, being the deputy CM-cum-health minister, also was present on the dais.
