Bihar government has released rupees 100 crore as an assistance package for poor people of the state in view of ongoing lockdown in view of Coronavirus outbreak. This decision was taken in a high level meeting which was chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar said assistance will be given those whose daily income has stopped due to lockdown. It includes poor people including labourers, rickshaw pullers and other people who are facing hardships due to lockdown. He said the state government will provide food , shelters and medical facilities to them. This assistance will be also provided to the people who are living outside Bihar. Outside Bihar assistance will be provided to poors through concerned Resident Commissioners.
