Bihar is reeling under the impact of intense heat. Gaya recorded the maximum temperature of 43.5 degree Celsius while the temperature in Patna was 43 degree celsius yesterday.
Patna district administration has suspended classes from nursery to eight in both government and private schools till June 20 due to prevailing heat condition that pose a threat to the health and life of children.
Most of the schools were scheduled to reopen after summer vacation tomorrow but they would have to extend their vacation by three days. Met department predicts there will be no respite of heat for next five days.
During this period the maximum temperature will remain more than 40 degree Celsius and 4.5 degree or more above the normal temperature.
