Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today conducted an aerial survey of flood affected districts due to sudden rise of water level of river Ganga. After taking stock of the situation, Mr. Kumar asked officials to ensure relief and rescue operations in flood affected regions. More than 10 districts are affected by flood due to rise of water level Ganga and other rivers. Low lying areas of Patna, Buxar, Begusarai, Saran, Siwan, Vaishali, Samastipur, Khagaria, Munger, Bhagalpur, Nalanda, Gaya districts are mostly affected. In river ine areas standing crops have been damaged, several houses were swept away and more than 200 government schools in these regions have been closed due to the prevailing flood situation. Large numbers of people are displaced due to flood in these areas.
