The Bihar government has canceled leaves of engineers of the water resource department in view of flood threat. Engineers have been instructed to keep round the clock vigil on discharge of water in river Kosi from Barah region.
Water level of river Kosi, Bagmati and Gandak is steadly increasing following release of 4 lakh cusecs water from Gandak and Balmiki nagar barrage. Flood water has entered in a scores of villages on the bank of rivers. Rail traffic on Jhanjharpur -Laukaha rail section has been disrupted due to

Incessant rain is continuing throughout the state. Met department has predicted heavy rain in next 24 hours. The State Disaster Management Department has put its rescue and relief teams on high alert in vulnerable districts to meet any eventuality. Eleven companies of the State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF) and the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF)deployed in different locations to join rescue and relief operations in the event of flood.
