PATNA: (AMN) The campaign for the first phase of election in Bihar has picked up as leaders of all political parties are making every efforts to attract the voters in the their favour. Only one day has left for campaigning for the first phase of Assembly elections.
 
47 constituencies are going to poll in this phase on Thursday. Senior leaders including star campaigners are making whirlwind tours to muster support for their party candidates. Congress President Sonia Gandhi will address election meetings at Kishanganj and Motihari while the State Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will address a rally at Muzaffarpur. Rashtriya Janta Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav will also hold an election meeting at Kishanganj today.

Leaders of ruling NDA and those of opposition parties are making allegations and counter allegations on the point of development work in the state. While Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is appealing people for vote in the name of development, opposition RJD and LJP blame no development work has taken place in the Nitish regime. LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan said that no factory has been established during Nitish government.
 
BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain said that the Nitish government has been successful to instill confidence among minorities. While leaders of congress are alleging that the state government has failed to execute central sponsored welfare schemes.

Meanwhile Congress party has accused the Nitish Kumar led NDA government for backwardness of the state. Addressing election rally at Kishanganj today Congress President Sonia Gandhi alleged that crores of rupees were given by the Centre to the state for the welfare schemes but the state government failed to utilize this funds. Exhorting people to come forward to cast their votes for all round development of the state, she lamented that the state could not utilize those funds which was allotted for the welfare of minorities. Congress President said, for the last 20 years, the voters in Bihar had elected non-Congress governments and they had done very little to improve the socio-economic conditions of the people.
