Uttar Pradesh Special Investigation team, SIT of police has arrested Bhim Sena Chief Chandrashekhar allegedly responsible for recent Saharanpur violence. He has been arrested from Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh.
FIR is lodged against him for provoking Dalit community for violence and collection of money using social media and posting fake posts. Police had announced reward of 12 thousand rupees on his head.
SIT had recently arrested the Gram Pradhan of the violence hit Shabbirpur. He is accused of provoking and misguiding people of the village for violence.
Three persons wanted in connection with the incident of attack on two youths on May 23, when they were returning back after BSP leader Mayawati`s public meeting, have also been arrested. Police has also arrested two persons in connection with violence on May 9 in which a police out post and 20 vehicles were set ablaze.
A total of 40 FIRs are lodged in connection with Saharanpur violence and 60 persons have been arrested.
