Bangladesh’s sports regulatory body has dissolved the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) committee led by Aminul Islam Bulbul following findings of irregularities in last year’s elections, and appointed an ad hoc panel headed by former national captain Tamim Iqbal Khan.

The National Sports Council (NSC) took the decision on Tuesday, two days after receiving an investigation report into alleged manipulation in the October 6 BCB elections.

A five-member probe committee, approved by State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque and led by retired Supreme Court justice A K M Asaduzzaman, submitted its findings on Sunday.

NSC sports director Aminul Ehsan told reporters that the report identified multiple irregularities in the electoral process. He added that the findings have been shared with the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The NSC also announced an 11-member ad hoc committee, which will oversee the board and conduct fresh elections within 90 days. The committee includes Tamim Iqbal as president, along with Rashna Imam, Miza Yasir Abbas, Syed Ibrahim Ahmed, Israfil Khosru, Minhajul Abedin Nannu, Athar Ali Khan, Tanvir Chowdhury, Salman Ispahani, Rafiqul Islam Babu and Fahim Sinha.
