Ayodhya- dharm sabha

Amidst growing demand for construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya without any further delay, the  VHP ‘Dharma Sabha’ here passed off peacefully on Sunday which turned out to be a win-win for all.

Ramji Das of Nirmohi Akhara told the  Dharam Sabha  that dates for the same will be announced early next year during Kumbh in Prayagraj.

Addressing the Sabha after the inauguration marked by chanting of mantras at the Badey Bhaktmaal ki Bagia, Ramji Das said, “The date for construction of the Ram temple will be declared in the 2019 Kumbh which will be held in Prayagraj. It is only a matter of few days, and I request you all to show some patience,” the seer remarked.

With this Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) managed to mobilise crowds for its “Ram Temple ” and succeeding in bringing the issue to centre stage, and the state government successfully warding off any untoward incident.

The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh managed to ensure that the day passes off peacefully, even if this meant twisting some rules and bending backwards to accommodate the converging Hindu faithfuls who wanted the Ram temple to be built at the earliest.

The day started with the Shiv Sena (SS) chief Uddhav Thackeray and his family praying before the Ram Lalla, who has been under a tent since 1992. Emerging out of the 30-minute “darshan”, Thackeray said he felt blessed to be in Ayodhya but the larger feeling was that of “visiting a prison”.

Later at a presser, he told the media that the Narendra Modi government at the Centre and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Uttar Pradesh were “powerful enough” to ensure that a grand Ram temple was built at the earliest. He announced all-out support if the Modi government introduced a Bill or brought an ordinance favouring an early start of building of the Ram temple at the disputed site.

A decision on the Ayodhya Ram temple will be taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his ministers after December 11, one of the religious leaders attending the Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s mega rally in Ayodhya claimed today. Swami Rambhadracharya said he had the assurance of senior a union minister, whom he met on Friday. He, however, did not name the minister.

Quoting the minister, he said, “I am hopeful that a legislation will come for temple construction. The government will respect our sentiments — this is what a seniormost minister told me. He has asked me to keep patience”.
