The Dharam Sabha of Vishwa Hindu Parishad VHP started in Ayodhya today amid tight security.
Thousands of VHP members are taking part in the Dharam Sabha which is being organised for early construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya.
Police is keeping extra vigil to maintain law and order.
Drone Cameras are keeping an eye on the crowd. More than 1000 police constables, 48 companies of provincial armed constabulary, 2 ATS Commando teams along with central paramilitary forces including 9 companies of RPF are guarding every nook and corner of the city.
The streets of Ayodhya were filled with VHP activists who have poured in from various parts of the county for the grand event on Sunday, even as security has been heightened in the temple town to maintain law and order. Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s ‘Dharma Sabha’ is being touted as the largest congregation of ‘Ram bhakts’ in Ayodhya since the 1992 ‘kar seva’, with the Hindu outfit claiming a large number of people will attend it.
The RSS and its other affiliates have also thrown in their support to make the event a show of strength so that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre can be pressurised into acting for the early construction of the temple. Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray is also taking part in some events.
