Rafael Nadal and Stefanos Tsitsipas entered the Men’s Singles semi-finals in Melbourne today. In Women’s Singles, Danielle Collins and Petra Kvitova moved to the semi-finals. Nadal entered the semi-finals, beating Frances Tiafoe 6-3,6-4,6-2 in the quarters. Greek sensation Stefanos Tsitsipas powered into the semi-final, sweeping past 22nd seed Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain 7-5, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 in the quarter-final.

Unseeded American Danielle Collins progressed to women’s singles semi-finals, beating World number 44 Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia 2-6, 7-5, 6-1 in the women’s singles quarters. She will face Petra Kvitova of Czechoslovakia in the semis. Kvitova herself swept into her first Grand Slam semi-final crushing local hope Ashleigh Barty 6-1, 6-4 in the quarters.
India’s campaign at the Australian Open ended today with the crashing out of veteran Leander Paes and his partner Samantha Stosur in the second round of mixed doubles event. Paes had also made a first round exit at the Men’s Doubles event with partner Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela of Mexico.
Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and his partner Nicholas Monroe were also knocked out in the opening round of Men’s Doubles. In the men’s singles, Prajnesh Gunneswaran had made a first round exit after coming through the Qualifiers. Ramkumar Ramanathan, Ankita Raina and Karman Thandi could not make it to the singles main draw.
