Six people have died in the Australian city of Melbourne from a phenomenon called ‘thunderstorm asthma’ and three more are in a critical condition.

‘Thunderstorm asthma’ occurs in the spring when rye grass pollen gets wet and disintegrates into smaller pieces. These small pieces enters people’s lungs causing breathing problems.
