Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) has advised the people to be extra vigilant in the run-up to the Republic Day as terrorists can use domesticated animals for sabotage.
In a statement, ATS asked the people to be very cautious about animals with clothing and report any suspicious activity as pet animals can be used for sabotage. The ATS said, Republic day events and places where people gather in large numbers can be targeted by anti-national elements.
It said, the statement has been issued after a review of the evolving security situation and threat of terror attacks in Maharashtra and in other parts of the country. The ATS also advised people not to fall pray to rumours spread through social media and not to circulate them either.
