President, VP & PM express grief over accident

At least 13 people died, and more than 70 were injured after a multiple-vehicle collision resulted in a massive fire in Mathura today. An accident occurred on the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura’s Baldev area.
Chandra Prakash Singh, Mathura District Magistrate, on Tuesday said that the death toll in the multi-vehicle collision that took place on the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura has risen to 13.
Among the deceased, one was from Prayagraj, one from Gonda, and one from Azamgarh. Efforts are underway to identify the other victims of the accident, he said.
All 60 people injured in the accident are receiving treatment in different hospitals. The District Magistrate has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the horrific road accident. The Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) will submit an inquiry report on the accident’s cause and measures to prevent similar accidents in the future.
An FIR is being registered by the police, the District Magistrate said.Moreover, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also taken cognisance of the tragic accident. The administration will provide assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased.
President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President C P Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed grief at the loss of lives in a tragic accident on the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.
In a social media post, the President extended her condolences to all the bereaved families and prayed for the swift recovery of all those who have been injured.
Meanwhile, the Vice President prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured and strength to the families to endure this irreparable loss.
In addition, the Prime Minister said that his thoughts are with those who have lost their loved ones and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has announced an ex-gratia of two lakh rupees from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to the next of kin of each deceased. It also added that 50 thousand rupees will be given to each injured.
