Security forces have achieved major success Saturday against terrorism by killing two platoon commanders of National Democratic Front of Bodoland- Songbijit faction and arresting the Deputy Self Styled Commander in Chief in separate incidents in Assam.
IGP, L R Bishnoi said that security forces gunned down Gwndai (Read Gundai) and Jwanthi at Oxiguri area in Chirang district Saturday morning.
Bishnoi said that slain militants were wanted by the NIA in connection with the killing of civilians in Kokrajhar district last December.
In another breakthrough, Kokrajhar police arrested Dwiswrang Daimary, the self styled Deputy Commander in Chief of the outfit at Sesapani forest area.
He was involved in several anti- social activities including the killing of around 80 innocent civilians last year.
Several sophisticated weapons have been recovered in both the incidents.
