BJP president Amit Shah has categorically ruled out any post poll alliance with All India United Democratic Front (AIDUF) led by Badruddin Ajmal in Assam. “BJP will prefer to sit in opposition for more 50 years rather than joining hands with a party which is a protector of illegal migrants in Assam” BJP Chief said.
Addressing an election rallies in various areas of all the three districts i.e. Karimganj, Hailakandi and Cachar of Barak Valley, Mr Shah also justified BJP’s stand on proposed granting of citizenship to the minority Hindus from Bangladesh and said that these people should be given shelter to save them from religious persecution.
However, he was harsh on the cross border infiltration and said that Congress government has encouraged illegal migration to use them as vote banks.
Launching a scathing attack on Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal Mr Shah said, “Although they abuse each other in public life, Gogoi and Ajmal maintain a closed door `ILU ILUs’ relationship”. Mr Shah also made slew of promises to voters starting from creating employment to opening of closed industries in the state. He also reiterated BJP’s stand on sealing Indo-Bangla border.
