BJP makes history in Assam; dethrones Congress

Assam Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal has said, the state government is committed to seal the Indo-Bangladesh border soon. Talking to reporters in Guwahati on the completion of one year of BJP-led government in the state, Mr Sonowal said, government’s efforts have reduced cross border arms and cattle smuggling.

The Chief Minister also said, the draft roll of the National Register of Citizens will be published by 31st of December this year. He added that the state government has taken stern measure against corruption. Mr Sonowal said, vigilance wing of the state police has taken up around 100 such cases adding that no one involved in corruption will be spared.

He also said, more than 10 lakh toilets have been constructed in the state under the Swacch Bharat Mission.
