The 11th Asia Europe meeting ASEM Summit has reaffirmed its commitment for greater partnership through Informal political dialogue and initiatives in economic and socio-cultural fields.

The Ulaanbaatar Declaration issued today has also expressed its commitment for united fight against terrorism and violent extremism. It said that shifting geopolitics lead to greater uncertainties and volatility in the world, ASEM will reinforce its role as a catalyst for effective multilateralism and a rules-based international order.

The decleration said that the ASEM will enhance its partnership in order to meet the aspirations of the people for peace and stability, economic prosperity, sustainable development and a better quality of life. It said that ASEM will strive to further strengthen Asia-Europe multi-dimensional and people-centered partnership. The declaration said that the ASEM will also focus on countering terrorism, maritime safety and security, fighting piracy and armed robbery at sea, as well as human and drug trafficking.

It reaffirms its commitment for cyber security, cyber-crime, security of in the use of information and communication technologies, upholding the purpose and principles of the UN Charter, the rule of law and enforcement of international law, human rights, anti corruption, migration, Sustainable Development and climate change. The two days summit has also recognized its role in various areas including broadening political dialogue, enhancing economic cooperation and increasing socio-cultural exchanges between Asia and Europe.

Summit unanimously decided to designate an ASEM Day on 1st of March or any other day during the first week of March.
