Army chief Bipin Rawat Thursday hinted at possible retaliation to the mutilation of Indian soldiers’ bodies by Pakistan troops.
Replying to media queries in New Delhi on the sidelines of a function, the Army Chief said the Indian Army does not reveal plans before executing them. General Rawat said the armed forces effectively respond to such actions and only share details after executing the plan.
Asked about the reactivation of terror launchpads across the LoC which were destroyed by India during the surgical strike last year, General Rawat said the counter-infiltration postures have been beefed up in Jammu and Kashmir. He said terrorists are trying to infiltrate as snow is melting and summer has set.
On security forces launching a massive anti-militancy operation at multiple places in south Kashmir’s Shopian district, the army chief said it is being carried out to bring the situation under control.
