India’s star Compound archer Abhishek Verma bagged two medals on Day One of the World Cup Finals at Samsun in Turkey. He first teamed up with Jyothi Surekha Vennam to clinch a Silver medal in the Mixed Team event, before clinching a Bronze in the individual category.
In the Team event, Abhishek and Jyothi finished second after they lost to the Turkish duo of Elmaagacli and Yestim Bostan 159-152. In the Individual bronze medal play-off match, Verma defeated South Korea’s Kim Jongho, 30-27.
The tournament will also see Indian Recurve archer Deepika Kumari, a four-time World Cup Silver medallist, making her seventh appearance
