The district administration of Gaya has recently usurped a playground cum Eidgah of Abgila, a historical Muslim village of Gaya and turned the field into a bus stand. This has caused deep resentment among the local people who are till now keeping their anger under control due to advice of elderly people. According to the locals the playground near Manpur block has been converted into a bus stand by Gaya administration in compliance with some unscrupulous elements and the backing of local BJP MLA.

This playground was not only an asset for the youth of the village in and around but it was only place for the villagers to inhale fresh air. Several tournaments had been organized in this field which was attended by several top leaders and officials including former chief ministers Styandra Narain Sinha and Bindeshwari Dubey.

Both the chief ministers had promised the villagers that this land would remain a playground for the youths as a play ground is as important as a school.
Moreover every year Namaz is offered on the playground on the occasion of EID UL FITR and EID UL ZUHA.

“The bus stand has not only snatched away field, peace and tranquility but it has also lead to criminal activities in the area” said Alimuddin Mashhadi, a local senior citizen.

In a letter to chief minister Nitish Kumar, which has been received by the Dy secretary in CM secretariat, the local people have requested him to get the bus stand evicted as soon as possible and declare the land as a playground.

“Please take action before it is too late. We request you to evict this bus stand as soon as possible and declare the land as a playground”, the letter to CM said.
Protest for eviction is also going on the Facebook and Twitter.

“Ager hum logon ki zarurat padti hai to hum log aa jayenge apne ground ko jane nahi denge, ground ko poltics se dur rakha jayega.  ground k liye humlog kuch bhi kr sakte hain, Sirf play ground nahi hai vo ”Eid Gah’ bhi hai,” said Syed Sarfraz Haider an NRI Abgilian.
