Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has expressed grief over the tragic death of a minor girl, an intermediate student, who succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment after being set on fire by a young man at Badvel in Kadapa district. The Chief Minister said it was heartbreaking to see a promising student fall victim to such a heinous act.

Since yesterday, the Chief Minister has been in constant communication with police officials regarding the incident. The A district superintendent of police informed the chief minister that the accused has been arrested.

Mr. Naidu instructed the police to expedite the investigation and ensure the strictest punishment is given to the accused. He stressed that delivering justice to the victim’s family means ensuring the accused is punished swiftly and lawfully. The CM directed officials to complete the trial in a special court under fast-track procedures to secure a severe penalty for the criminal. He also emphasised that the punishment in this case should serve as a warning to those committing atrocities against women and girls.
