Union Home Minister Amit Shah today reviewed the overall law & order & security situation in Jammu and kashmir at a high level meeting in Srinagar.

Governor Satya Pal Malik, Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba, state administration officials and top officials of all the security and intelligence agencies attended the meeting. It is Amit Shah’s first visit to the state after assuming charge of home ministry in the 2nd successive tenure of BJP led NDA government at the Centre.

Home Minister took stock of the law & order and overall security situation and arrangements related to upcoming 46 day Amarnath Yatra beginning on 1st July. Home Minister also took a detailed review of various development schemes and projects in the State. He also met several delegations including Sarpanches.

Earlier today Mr Amit Shah visited the home of Inspector Arshad Khan in Srinagar and offered condolences to the bereaved family. Mr Arshad, posted as SHO Anantnag sustained grievous injuries in a terrorist attack on June 12 in the district and later succumbed to injuries at AIIMS Delhi.
