At the time when lathi wielding Gao Rakshak, cow vigilantes are moving across that country, more than 100 cows died within 10 days at Hingonia Gaushala, in BJP ruled Rajasthan.
The cows, termed as Mata by many, died due to hunger, malnutrition and highly unhygienic condition where they were living in Hingonia Gaushala in Jaipur considered to be the largest in the state.
Rajasthan Chief Minister’s office released a statement saying that the cows were already sick and malnourished.
Rajasthan Government has sought a report on the matter and vowed to improve the situation in Hingonia Gaushala.
Reports say the death of cows was due to alleged lapse in maintenance of cowshed.
“The Chief Minister has asked for report on Hingonia Gaushala. We are drafting a road map and action plan to improve situation there,” said Rajasthan Minister Rajendra Rathore.
There are over 8,000 cows at the Hingonia Gaushala which are taken care of by a team of 14 veterinarians, 24 livestock assistants, and about 200 other staff.
According a report in NDTV no Gao Rakshaks came to rescue or help of these innocent cows.
Rajasthan is the first and only state to have a government department specifically for cows.
The senior engineer who is responsible for the maintenance of the cowshed rushed to the spot today. Interestingly, it is for the first time in nearly six months that the official visited the cow shed.
