Former Secretary in the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances Alok Rawat has been appointed as a member of the National Commission for Women, NCW. He is the the first male member in the five member Commission.
Speaking to media, Mr. Rawat said, he feels that the presence of a male member in the commission would provide a better understanding to the women’s issues. He said, he will learn the job first, as issues pertaining to women are a bit different from development agenda.
