Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has distributed financial assistance to 13 families whose members died in queues at banks and ATMs across the state. In Lucknow, the Chief Minister also gave financial assistance to a woman who gave birth to a child while in a bank queue in Kanpur Dehat.
He also distributed financial assistance of 25 lakh rupees each to families of an army jawan and three central para-military forces personnel killed on duty. In his address, Mr Yadav targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for demonetisation. When asked about the possible alliance between Samajwadi Party and Congress, the Chief Minister said, Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav will take a decision on the issue.
