National Security Adviser Ajit Doval has said that Agnipath is a game changer scheme for a well-trained and agile Army. Mr Doval dispelled the myths about the Agnipath Scheme. He said, the scheme will make the Indian Armed Forces stronger.
The NSA made it clear that the Aganiveers will be amongst the most-disciplined youth and the move is a part of overall structural reforms. He said that there is no place for violence and vandalism in the society. He further said that the concerns related to the Agnipath Scheme are being addressed.
Doval clarified that Agniveers will never constitute the whole Army. He said, those Agniveers who become regulars eventually will undergo intensive training, acquire experience over a period of time. In an interview to a News Agency, Mr Doval said, there is a need to look at it in a perspective. He highlighted Agnipath is not a standalone scheme in itself.
The NSA underlined that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power in 2014, one of his prime priorities was to make India secure and strong and that required many avenues, many steps, multitude of them.
Mr Doval said, broadly speaking, they come under the four heads. It requires equipment, it requires change in systems and structures, it requires change in technology, it requires change in manpower, policies and they have to be futuristic.
Mr Doval said, the whole war is undergoing a great change as there will be contactless wars and war against the invisible enemy. Saying technology is taking over at a rapid pace, the National Security Advisor stressed that to prepare for tomorrow, there is a need to change.
Mr Doval said, security is a dynamic concept and it cannot remain static and in relation with the environment, national interest and national assets should be protected.
