New Delhi: A day after JD(U) decided to work for anti-BJP formations like it did grand alliance in Bihar, top BJP leaders including L K Advani, Rajnath Singh and Najma Heptullah rushed to attend a lunch hosted by JDU president Sharad Yadav at his residence here.

The event was the release of a book written on JD(U) supremo Sharad Yadav by the Vice President Hamid Ansari.

The event that has the potential of being counted as major political event of year, assumed political significance when leaders of the political parties belonging to opposition benches in the Parliament ranging from National Conference, Samajwadi Party, Congress in norrth, former prime minister Dewegowada and DMK, AIDMK, TDP, TRS from south, TMC and AGP from east and JD (U) from west started pouring in.

The Congress President Sonia Gandhi among the leaders who entered the venue. She was accompanied by senior Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and others. All other opposition leaders followed her.

It was a small but graceful event where guests were taken a back when form deputy prime minister L K Advani flanked by his daughter made his quite entry. After few minutes Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Najma Heptullah joined him and attended the till the end. Their presence gave on the spot birth to the speculation about the possible political realignment and the beginning of rise of resentment with the BJP party as a good number of senior leaders are unhappy with the treatment being meted out to them by Prime Minister.

The unique unity display by the leaders of opposition party is certainly give sleepless nights to Modi as four important States are all set to go for assembly elections next year. This show of strength will further upset the applecart of Modi who have pinned some in Assam because the smaller parties on whom he banking would give a second thought to joining hands with UPA.
