The Bombay High Court has expressed dissatisfaction with CBI’s report regrading benami flats in the scam-tainted Adarsh building. A division bench of Justices A S Oka and A A Sayed said the document was silent on the points specifically raised by the court in its last hearing. The court said CBI has done nothing in respect to issues raised in the PIL. The court was hearing a PIL alleging that senior bureaucrats and politicians held ‘benami’ or proxy flats in the Adarsh building.
It was a quid-pro-quo for clearing files related to the society in violation of several norms. The PIL also sought to know the names of two top Maharashtra government officials who had dealt with Adarsh files and allegedly obtained benami flats. The court has directed CBI Joint Director and Additional Solicitor General to appear before it on the next hearing scheduled on 5th October.
