The death in a coal mine explosion northern Bartin province of Turkey has reached 41. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said this yesterday. Turkey’s Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said 58 of 110 people working in the mine at the time of the blast have been rescued. The blast occurred on Friday. Soylu also said, one miner was discharged from the hospital while 10 were still receiving treatment in Bartin and Istanbul. Energy Minister Fatih Donmez said a fire in the mine was largely contained but fire isolation and cooling efforts were continuing after the incident that took place 350 meters below ground.

Authorities said, an investigation has been launched into the cause of the incident.
