The Bihar State Women Rights Commission has issued a notice to the East Champaran Superintendent of Police in connection with the brutal gang rape of a 17 year old at Ramgarhwa village in Motihari.
Taking suo-moto cognizance of the report published in newspapers, Women Rights Commission Chairperson Justice Bilal Nazaki said the family of the victim is living under fear and trauma because of the threat they are getting.
The matter appears to be very serious.
He directed the East Champaran SP to submit a detailed report on the incident by Monday.
Meanwhile, Samiullah the main accused in the case, surrendered before the police in Chatauni locality of Motihari town.
The minor was allegedly picked up by prime accused Samiullah who raped her and made a video clip on 12th June.
Raids are on to nab the other accused. Social and cultural organisations held protests at Motihari and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and action against police men responsible for negligence in registering FIR and delay in medical examination of the victim.
Union Ministers Radha Mohan Singh and Upendra Kushwaha today met family members of the victim.
They said, it was a shameful incident and a black spot on Bihar.
They said, those who have committed the heinous crime should not be spared and must be punished.
