In Continuance to his testimony to a court in Mumbai today in the court of Special Judge G.A.Sanap, Pakistani-American terrorist David Coleman Headley claimed that NIA had wrongly recorded his statement.

Headley said NIA never read his statement back to him. He claimed to be seeing the copy of his statement to NIA for the first time.

Headley maintained that Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi introduced him to Muzzamil Bhatt in 2006 as a top commander of LeT, who also told him Muzammil Butt handled Akshardham and the Ishrat Jahan projects.

However, he denied to have told NIA that Lakhvi sarcastically told him that Muzamil’s operations were failure when he introduced him to Muzamil.

Headley further stated that Lakhvi told him about Ishrat Jahan case but he was having prior knowledge about Ishrat Jahan case through newspapers.

He said that he gave details of Ishrat Jahan operation in NIA’s statement but, can’t assign a reason as to why NIA didn’t record that.

The Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative-turned approver accepted that he told NIA that there was a women’s wing in LeT and mother of Abu Aiman was head of that.

Headley’s revelation came during his ongoing cross-examination by lawyer Abdul Wahab Khan, defence counsel for Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal, an accused in the 26/11 attack case.
