Tensions across West Asia are intensifying, with Israeli forces saying they have completed a large-scale wave of strikes targeting dozens of Iranian regime sites, including a key railway bridge in Kashan. Israeli officials said the strikes aimed to disrupt military logistics and infrastructure as the confrontation between Israel and Iran continues to expand. At the same time, US President Donald Trump has warned of destructive attacks on Iran if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened or a deal is reached, adding to fears of an even more destructive war.
The escalation comes as Gulf countries continue to report growing spillover effects. Iranian attacks on critical infrastructure have been reported across the region, including a strike on Saudi Arabia’s Jubail industrial complex, one of the world’s largest petrochemical hubs, raising fears of wider economic fallout. Bahrain, Kuwait and other GCC countries have also reported minor incidents linked to falling debris and air defence interceptions in the past few hours, underscoring the expanding reach of the conflict.
The United States has now entered the latest phase of the conflict, carrying out strikes on military targets at Iran’s Kharg Island, a vital oil export hub that handles a significant portion of Iran’s crude shipments. The attack has sent shockwaves through global energy markets, with oil prices surging past $115 a barrel amid fears of supply disruptions. President Donald Trump has issued fresh warnings of devastating strikes on Iranian infrastructure if Tehran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz by his deadline later tonight. The United States has also urged American citizens inIraq to leave immediately, citing threats from Iran-backed militias and concerns that the conflict could expand into multiple fronts across West Asia. The developments mark one of the most dangerous moments in the ongoing West Asia crisis, with multiple countries now directly or indirectly involved and the risk of further escalation continuing to grow.
